Hanson: $27,000 worth of drugs found in Express Mail package

A Canton man was recently arrested after an investigation by Hanson police into a suspicious package.

The package was sent by Express Mail from California to Hanson and was believed to contain narcotics.

Hanson police worked with the U.S Postal Inspector’s Office and then requested a K-9 from the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department to sniff the package.

The K-9 had a positive alert which resulted in 37-year-old Lucus Vail being charged with possession of Class D drug with intent to distribute and conspiracy to violate the drug law.

The package contained nearly seven pounds of drugs which has a street value of $27,000.
