The Hingham police department is poised to begin its annual Citizen’s Police Academy.
The ten-week program is expected to start March 27th from 6 to 9 p-m.
It will be run at the police station.
Some of the topics covered will be recruit training, patrol procedures, crime prevention, motor vehicle law, an O.U.I. presentation and domestic violence.
Also included will be a tour of the Plymouth County Jail, as well as a mock trial at Hingham District Court, a crime scene investigation, a K-9 demonstration and a vehicle extrication.
All students will be offered a ride-along with a Hingham police officer.
Applicants must be Hingham residents or business owners at least 18-years old.
