Plymouth: Feds to discuss Pilgrim safety

On Tuesday, the federal regulators will hold an open house in Plymouth to discuss its annual safety assessment at the Pilgrim nuclear plant.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s full-time inspectors, technical experts, and managers will be available for one-on-one talks.

Afterward, commission representatives will brief Plymouth selectmen about plans for a dry cask storage facility for spent nuclear fuel at Pilgrim.

The meeting will include a public question-and-answer session.

The N.R.C. found no performance problems at Pilgrim last year above the level considered very low risk.

Tuesday’s meeting will run from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at Plymouth Town Hall.
