Brockton: 24-yr-old Taunton man charged in connection with fatal shooting

While many were getting ready to observe a moment of silence Monday afternoon at 2:50p.m. in tribute of the Boston Marathon bombings, Brockton police were responding to a report that two people had been shot.

Vardly St. Felix, 23, and Stanley Damestoire, 28, both of Brockton, drove themselves to a local hospital after the driver of a SUV pulled up next to their vehicle on Coburn Street, pointed a handgun at them and fired three shots around 2:45p.m.

St. Felix died a short time later.

Police have identified the driver of the SUV as Carlens Alain Louis of Taunton. Louis was found at a motel in Seekonk Monday evening.

The 24-year-old has been charged with murder, assault with intent to murder, and unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
