April 18, 2013 ~ Braintree Municipal Golf Course Head Golf Professional, Bob Beach, joined the broadcast to fill us in on the many initiatives he has planned for golfers on Boston’s South Shore and beyond this season, such as Clubs for Vets and free clinics and lessons for veterans.
Bob’s Putting for Autism and special needs clinics resume for the season at Braintree Municipal Golf Course every Monday evening at 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., beginning April 22nd, and conclude with The 13th Annual NEPGA/Special Olympics Golf Tournament on Sunday October 20, 2013. Braintree Municipal also has a SoloRider golf cart available for physically challenged golfers.
In 2012, Bob held 46 clinics for veterans at Braintree Municipal and surrounding courses, such as Granite Links Golf Club in Quincy, North Hill Country Club in Duxbury and South Shore Country Club in Hingham. Bob’s many accolades include: 2005 NEPGA Teacher of the Year; Golf Digest #1 Teaching Professional in Massachusetts 2011, 2012; Recepient of the inaugural 2012 NEPGA Patriot Award ~ in recognition of the dedication shown towards bringing the game of golf not only to veterans but also to their families through the numerous clinics run each year; 2009, 2011 and 2012 NEPGA Horton Smith Award recipient.
