Hingham: Resident calls on Selectmen to consider withdrawing town from Ply. County Gov’t

A Hingham resident is calling on Selectmen to consider withdrawing the town from Plymouth County Government.

According to Carl Harris, Hingham pays an annual fee of about $100,000 that goes towards county services.

Harris says eight out of fourteen Massachusetts counties have abolished government. The state has taken over the services those counties once had, yet Plymouth County towns continue to pay local, state, and county taxes…
