Middleboro: Brush fires prompt burning ban

The town of Middleboro is banning outside burning following  several weekend brush fires.

Authorities say the ban follows weekend warnings of dry and breezy conditions from the National Weather Service that increase the risk of brush and forest fires.

A Red Flag warning for parts of Plymouth, Norfolk and Bristol counties was in effect Friday and Saturday.

It ended late Saturday afternoon because of an increase in humidity.

Still, several brush fires were reported Sunday in Plymouth, Kingston, and Carver.
