In Plymouth, the Town Manager announces the appointment of an Assistant Town Manager.
It has been a year since Melissa Arrighi has been filling both the role of Town Manager and Assistant Town Manager, but when she put out official word that she was looking for an assistant, there was no shortage of applicants. Tuesday night she told the Board of Selectmen that the position has been filled:
“Mr. Michael Galla is coming here from Pennsylvania. He was one of the original applicants. I think we had over 90 applications.”
Only four people were brought in for the second more intensive round of interviews:
“That included preparing for and conducting a 20-minute power pointpresentation to a group of people and in the scenario that they were given that group of people were selectmen and the town manager and how they were going to present an issue—in this case it was about the 1820 Courthouse.”
Mr. Galla has spent his professional career in Pennsylvania, most recently as Director of Administration for Horsham Township, overseeing the daily operations of town departments in a community of twenty-six thousand people. He holds a Masters Degree in Government and Political Affairs from Villanova University and takes over his duties in Plymouth on May 28th.
