Plymouth Planning Board Chairman Marc Garrett gave his board an update on the status of the plan to redevelop the 1820 Court House area for use as a government center.

Some discussion was given to the fact that the goal of the 1820 Consortium was to put out an RFP for a mixed use of the Court House corridor.  Chairman Marc Garrett stated: “There was no indication that first RFP by the Consortium was going to have any traction.  So an alternative use program came up for municipal use and it was agreed upon by the Selectman, the Planning Board, the Building Committee, the School Committee at a joint public meeting, that Selectman Muratore called several weeks ago.”

Officials have moved forward to develop the RFP.

Garrett said: “It is in pretty close to final draft form—the question was raised if the scope of that could be broadened and it really can’t.  It’s a focused feasibility study for municipal use—singular usage concept at this point.”

The RFP is expected to be completed by the end of the month.
