Brockton: Police investigate fatal daytime shooting

Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Brockton Tuesday afternoon.

The Plymouth County District Attorney’s office said in a statement Wednesday that at around 4:09 p.m. Tuesday Brockton Police got a report of multiple gunshots and a male shot and lying in the driveway at 227 Belmont Street.

When officers arrived they found 45-year-old Charles Evan of Brockton lying in the driveway with apparent gunshot wounds to his chest. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The case in under investigation by State Police Detectives assigned to the D.A’s office and the Brockton Police, and no further information is being released at this time.
