Halifax: Voters to address two Special Town Meeting warrants plus the Annual Town Meeting Warrant

Tonight, Halifax residents will be voting on articles on two Special Town Meeting warrants, plus the Annual Town Meeting warrant.

In April, a Special Town Meeting concerning medical marijuana was continued until tonight.

There is also a twelve-article Special Town Meeting warrant that is mainly money transfers and housekeeping items.

The Annual Town Meeting warrant has 64 articles, including the town budget.

Article 27 asks voters to approved $150,000 for the maintenance of town roads. Article 36 seeks $85,000 to replace the generators at the fire station and emergency shelter. Article 46 seeks $10,000 for the Summit Street ball fields. And, article 63 asks voters to have the position of Treasurer-Collector be appointed by the Board of Selectmen starting in 2015.

Halifax Town Meeting begins at 7:30 tonight at the Halifax Elementary School.

About David Skill

Dave Skill’s radio career began in the fall of 1964 when he arrived on the campus of Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA. Dave barely got his bags unpacked when he paid a visit to WCHC, the campus radio station. And, before he knew it, he was spending so much time as a disc jockey and news writer/reporter, it seemed like he was majoring in “radio” and minoring in academics at “The Cross”. As you might imagine, his grades reflected it! During his junior and senior years, he also worked weekends in news and as a disc jockey at WNEB, the CBS radio affiliate in Worcester at the time.
