Pembroke: Police arrest suspected purse thief

Pembroke police were able to catch up with a Rockland man who’s accused of trying to steal a woman’s purse inside Stop and Shop Supermarket on Church Street Monday evening.

According to Pembroke Police Lieutenant David Clauss, 24-year-old Travis Adams attempted to run off with the purse but a scuffle ensued inside the supermarket and continued outside.

Police are looking for a second suspect who they believe was Adams’ accomplice in the robbery.

Adams is charged with unarmed robbery and assault.
