A Plymouth man has been arrested for a sixth drunken driving offense and cocaine possession after leaving the scene of a crash early Thursday morning.

Plymouth Police Captain John Rogers said they got a call of a motor vehicle accident on Bourne Road at around 3:20 a.m. on Thursday. When they arrived at the scene they found a vehicle had gone off the road and struck a utility pole, but there was no one inside.

They tracked the vehicle’s registration to 54-year-old Walter Silvia, of Plymouth, who was found at his Bourne Road home not far from the accident scene. Capt. Rogers says Silvia appeared intoxicated but uninjured. Silvia was arrested and police found a small amount cocaine on his person.

Silvia was held on bail and arraigned in Plymouth District Court on Thursday on charges of 6th offense OUI, leaving the scene of property damage, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation and possession of a class B substance.
