Bridgewater: Taunton man charged with bank robbery

A 27 year-old Taunton man is being arraigned today after he allegedly robbed a bank in Bridgewater on June 13 around 2:45 p.m.

Bridgewater Police responding to a 911 call from Mechanics Cooperative Bank on Main Street, learned that a white male 5’-6”, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark color jeans, walked into the bank and handed one of the tellers a note demanding money. The suspect did not show or say that he had a weapon. The suspect then fled the building on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported.

Based on descriptions given by several eyewitnesses, Bridgewater Police obtained an arrest warrant, through Brockton District Court, for 27 year-old Jonathan King.

He was arrested by Taunton Police and taken to the Bridgewater Police Department to await arraignment.
