Carver: Town meeting to address medical marijuana and Community Preservation articles

The 2013 Town Meeting season will soon be coming to a close. But, several area towns still need to complete their Town Meeting business.

Monday night, Carver residents will gather at Carver High School to address a two article Special Town Meeting warrant, which has just money transfers.

The Annual Town Meeting warrant has 40 articles.

A number of capital expenditures are on the warrant including money for vehicles for the Police and Fire Departments.

Among the Community Preservation Committee articles is a request for money for recreational facilities at Savery Meadow and Church Street.

Also on the warrant is an article that, if passed. would reduce the Community Preservation Act percentage from 3% to 1%.

There is also an article regarding pawnbrokers and secondhand dealers of jewelry, and another about medical marijuana dispensaries in Carver.

Town meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. at Carver High School.

About David Skill

Dave Skill’s radio career began in the fall of 1964 when he arrived on the campus of Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA. Dave barely got his bags unpacked when he paid a visit to WCHC, the campus radio station. And, before he knew it, he was spending so much time as a disc jockey and news writer/reporter, it seemed like he was majoring in “radio” and minoring in academics at “The Cross”. As you might imagine, his grades reflected it! During his junior and senior years, he also worked weekends in news and as a disc jockey at WNEB, the CBS radio affiliate in Worcester at the time.
