A 25-foot boat with about 80-gallons of fuel sank while docked at the mooring near the Harbormaster’s office.
Harbormaster Donald Beers told WATD that someone noticed a sheen on the water late Saturday morning and called for help.
The boat was completely submerged.
Crews deployed a boom and absorbent pads to clean up the spill.
It’s unclear just how much fuel leaked into the harbor.
Beers said authorities raised the vessel, and it’s now sitting in the parking lot of the Duxbury Bay Maritime School.
He said the recent heavy rain or possibly a failed bilge pump may have played a role in the sinking.
