Duxbury: Changes to beach access to be discussed

Duxbury opens its long barrier to vehicular access by residents and, for a hefty fee, non-residents. Residents have complained about the resultant overcrowding and suspected black market of forged beach stickers.

Monday night selectmen began to address the issue. They have charged Town Manager Rene Reed with beginning a discussion of the problem and potential solutions.

Chairman Dave Madigan began the conversation with one idea – the town already uses vehicle plate identification technology at the transfer station, why not use it at the beach and eliminate stickers?
