Duxbury: Man falls 20 feet from scaffolding, suffers serious injuries

A man in his 50s was taken to a local hospital Tuesday afternoon after falling about 20 feet from metal scaffolding. 

According to the Duxbury Fire Department, the man works for a chimney sweep company and was hired by a Cordwood Path homeowner. 

He was standing on scaffolding that was positioned next to the home when he suddenly lost his balance and tumbled to the ground just after noontime. 

The man was conscious and alert when officials arrived. 

He was transported to South Shore Hospital with serious injuries.
