Plymouth: Pinehills to build assisted living facility

In Plymouth, the Pinehills Community will soon include an assisted living and memory care facility. The building will be located in the Village Green area. Opening is expected in the fall of next year.

The Planning Board heard a presentation this week about the assisted living complex from representatives of the Northbridge Companies—the group that Pinehills has selected to construct the facility—and John Judge, President of Pinehills, LLC:

“It is a need that really is something that everybody has to deal with if they’ve got older parents or maybe getting along in years themselves.”

Judge says the apartments will be leased:

“There will be 80 apartments. Under the Northbridge model—the apartments are leased to the folks that are resident in the buildings.”

What is considered memory care?

“Memory care are folks that have some form of dementia that, maybe can no longer comfortably live in their home on their own and they need some help and guidance and security.”

The Board unanimously supported the site plan.  Planning Board member Bill Wennerberg abstained because of a professional relationship with the Pinehills.

Construction begins this fall.
