A Taunton man is under arrest, charged with two counts of assault with intent to murder and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm, in connection with an incident in Plymouth last night on Forest Avenue.

Around 8:00 p.m. Plymouth Police received a report of a number of people with guns near 3 Forest Avenue. When the officers arrived in the area, they saw a 2006 Ford van traveling eastbound on Forest Avenue. When officers stopped the vehicle, one of the passengers, 21 year-old Trevor Wood of Taunton, got out of the vehicle wearing a bandana and carrying a handgun. Wood was told to drop the gun and, when he refused, he was shot by an officer. He suffered non-life threatening wounds and was taken by medflight helicopter to a hospital in Boston.

No arraignment date has been set.

11 others were charged with disturbing the peace, including 21 year-old Nikeisha Burden of Plymouth. Eight other adults are from Taunton and another is from Fall River.

A juvenile from Taunton was also arrested.

About David Skill

Dave Skill’s radio career began in the fall of 1964 when he arrived on the campus of Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA. Dave barely got his bags unpacked when he paid a visit to WCHC, the campus radio station. And, before he knew it, he was spending so much time as a disc jockey and news writer/reporter, it seemed like he was majoring in “radio” and minoring in academics at “The Cross”. As you might imagine, his grades reflected it! During his junior and senior years, he also worked weekends in news and as a disc jockey at WNEB, the CBS radio affiliate in Worcester at the time.
