Boston: Lawmakers to take up Cohasset home-rule petition

A legislative committee on Beacon Hill is slated to meet Tuesday mornign on a home-rule petition to alter Cohasset’s Town Manager Act.

This follows changes approved at Town Meeting in the spring.

Currently, no one can serve as Cohasset Town Manager if they’ve served on a town committee within the previous year.

The new rules would bar only selectmen or anyone who was a selectman within 15 months.

Acting Town Manager Michael Milanoski is ineligible for the permanent position under the current rule, and his contract expires at the end of the year.
