BOSTON (AP) – A 28-year-old man charged with attacking two women in South Boston, the same neighborhood where police say a third woman was abducted before being fatally stabbed, has been ruled unfit for arraignment.
A spokesman for the Suffolk District Attorney’s office says a judge postponed Thursday’s hearing for Edwin Alemany and ordered the defendant sent to Bridgewater State Hospital for 20 days of psychiatric evaluation.
Alemany is charged with stabbing a woman in South Boston early Wednesday and also punching another woman on Tuesday.
No arrests have been made in the killing of 24-year-old Amy Lord, a Wilbraham native who police said was kidnapped Tuesday morning and forced to withdraw money from several banks. Lord’s body was later found in a wooded area of the Hyde Park neighborhood.
