Brockton: Restaurant building struck by truck

It’s not exactly what patrons at a Papa Gino’s in Brockton would call a “family-friendly atmosphere.”

The restaurant at 675 Crescent St. expects to fully reopen on Monday, after a pickup truck crashed through the side of the building.

The accident Saturday afternoon sent a local man who was inside the eatery to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The truck driver, identified as 73-year-old John Veiga of Brockton, wasn’t hurt after he apparently hit the gas instead of the brakes by accident.

His license could be suspended.
