Duxbury: Marshfield man arrested for beach snack shop robbery

A 21-year-old Marshfield man faces charges in connection with an alleged theft from a Duxbury snack shop.

Duxbury police say they were called to a “disturbance” near Blakeman’s snack shop at Duxbury beach, just before 2 am on Tuesday.

Officers report seeing a black van, with the lights off, pulling away from the area as they arrived.

The driver, identifed as Tyler Spillane, was stopped and questioned by police but was let go after the caretaker of the business said nothing looked out of place.

The next morning the manager reported that cash and soda were in fact missing.

Duxbury and Marshfield detectives went to the Calypso lane home of Spillane and found items they say were taken from the business.

Spillane has been arraigned on charges of breaking and entering in the nighttime and larceny.
