Kingston: New town administrator hired

The Town of Kingston has a new town administrator. Selectmen announced Tuesday night they had signed a contract with Robert Fennesey of Plainfield.

He’s an attorney who has served as a selectman, as a town administrator and as a manager of the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. As part of his contract, he has agreed to suspend his law practice.

Selectmen hired an agency to screen candidates and interviewed the three finalists the agency presented. The candidates then met, one on one, with all the department heads. Then they returned for a second interview with selectmen.

Fennesey will begin his new job Aug. 1.
