Rockland: Motorcycle accident sends former South Shore police chief to hospital

A former police chief in Duxbury and Cohasset is in stable condition, after getting into a motorcycle accident in Rockland.

It happened around 1:30 p.m. Friday afternoon.

Police say Mark DeLuca was riding the bike when it crashed into an S.U.V. at the intersection of Pond and Hingham Sts.

DeLuca, who suffered serious injuries. was taken first to South Shore Hospital and then to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.

The driver of the S.U.V., Susan Siegel-McKelvey of Hingham, was not hurt.

An investigation is ongoing.
