Carver: Accident claims the life of an elderly Carver resident

An elderly Carver woman is dead following a weekend motor vehicle accident.

At approximately 4:08 P.M. On August 25, Carver Police and EMS were dispatched to 131 Main Street (Rt. 58) in Carver in response to a motor vehicle accident with injuries.

Upon arrival at the scene, police discovered that the accident was between a 1995 Chevrolet K3500 truck and a 1997 Ford Escort. The Chevrolet was operated by 46 year-old Carl Jewells of North Attleboro. The vehicle also had one passenger, 19 year-old Stephanie Waite of Halifax. The driver of the Ford Escort was identified as 88 year-old Marjorie Carter of Carver.

As a result of the severity of the accident, all three were transported to Jordan Hospital for treatment. Upon arrival at the Hospital, Carter had died.

The accident remains under investigation.
