Middleboro: Man under investigation for alleged attact on 7-year-old

A 23-year-old Middleboro man is under investigation for allegedly attacking a 7-year-old because he was riding his scooter the wrong way. Police Chief Bruce D. Gates said that neighbors reported 23-year-old Joseph St. Don hitting and kicking his girlfriend’s 7-year-old on Monday night. St. Don reportedly got mad at the way the child was riding his scooter, Gates said. Gates said the boy had visible injuries, but did not require hospitalization.

St. Don was arrested and charged with assault and battery on a child with injury and assault and battery on a child with a dangerous weapon, to whit a shod foot.

Cayenne Isaksen spokesperson for DFC, said the agency is investigating the incident.

St. Don, of 19 Southwick St., Middleboro, was arraigned on the charges Tuesday. Wareham District Court Judge Theresa Wright set bail at $1,500. 

St. Don has been released from the Plymouth House of Correction.  He is due back in court on Sept. 16.
