Pembroke: Man arrested after being charged with kidnapping and rape

A Pembroke man is due in Plymouth District Court for arraignment Monday after he was arrested Saturday on charges of aggravated rape and kidnapping after driving a woman around in his vehicle against her will and then allegedly raping her in a wooded section of Hanson.

Anthony Vega of 159 Valley Street, Pembroke

Police say Anthony Vega offered a ride to the victim, a 34-year-old woman, who was able to escape and eventually got a ride to the Hanover Police station. She was taken to the hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.

She was able to tell detectives in Pembroke and Hanover the name of her attacker and his license plate number, which she had written on her hand before she escaped.

Vega was arrested at a hospital in Brockton where he was being treated for an unspecified illness.

About David Skill

Dave Skill’s radio career began in the fall of 1964 when he arrived on the campus of Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA. Dave barely got his bags unpacked when he paid a visit to WCHC, the campus radio station. And, before he knew it, he was spending so much time as a disc jockey and news writer/reporter, it seemed like he was majoring in “radio” and minoring in academics at “The Cross”. As you might imagine, his grades reflected it! During his junior and senior years, he also worked weekends in news and as a disc jockey at WNEB, the CBS radio affiliate in Worcester at the time.
