Plymouth: Woman arrested after hitting police cruiser during pursuit

A 23-year-old Kingston woman is in custody Friday morning after a pursuit with State Police.

The pursuit on Route 3 Northbound, around the area of exit 3, began just before 12:30 with State Police responding to reports of a crash by a guardrail. State Police say the driver of the 2007 Honda Civic, 23 year old Danyelle Goulette of Kingston, took off with a trooper in pursuit.

A short distance later, both vehicles ended up in the median with the woman reportedly hitting the cruiser, leaving the trooper, who was out of the vehicle, briefly pinned.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the pursuit and crash. Goulette is facing numerous charges including OUI liquor, failure to stop, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (her car).
