Quincy: Norfolk D.A. to return to court in July crash (AUDIO UPDATE)

The state prosecutor involved a car crash that sent him and three others to the hospital last month is due back in court on Monday.

The car driven by Norfolk County D.A. Michael Morrissey crossed into oncoming traffic on Centre St. in Milton, colliding with two other vehicles.

Morrissey blamed it on a medical episode that caused him to pass out, and police said there was no evidence that alcohol or distracted driving were factors.

He was cleared by his doctors to return to work July 29th with certain restrictions, though he’d been running the office remotely since the crash July 16th.

Monday’s hearing at Quincy District Court will determine whether a charge of negligent operation is warranted.

The D.A. says he’ll be represented by his former law partner and that he’ll present medical records and other documentation to the clerk magistrate.

WATD will be at the hearing.
