Bridgewater: Police search for bank robbery suspect

On Thursday at approximately 4:30 p.m., Bridgewater Police responded to a 911 call from the Bridgewater Savings Bank at 1400 Pleasant Street.

The employee told police the suspect entered the bank and passed a note while demanding money. No weapon was shown. The suspect then fled on foot in a westerly direction on Pleasant St (Rt. 104) with an undetermined amount of money.

No one in the bank was injured.

An immediate search conducted by Bridgewater police and K-9 units from the Department of Correction and Brockton Police Department did not turn up the suspect.

Police said the suspect is a white male in his mid-50s, approximately 6’ to 6’2” tall, with a mustache, wearing blue jeans a baseball hat and sunglasses. The suspect was also wearing a dark blue or black shirt with a 9-11-01 memorial patch on the left breast of the shirt.

Police say surveillance video from the bank and neighboring business will be searched for a better description of the suspect. The robbery is under investigation by the Bridgewater Police Department.
