Hingham: Suspect identified in Linden Ponds carjacking

The suspect has been identified in Friday’s carjacking of an 85 year old woman in the parking lot of the Linden Ponds residential complex. An arrest warrant has been issued and police are seeking the public’s help in locating the suspect. On Monday, September 9,  Hingham Police obtained an arrest warrant from Hingham District Court for the suspect, identified as 20 year-old Jerry Irvin Anitus of Brockton.

The warrant lists seven charges: 1) Carjacking 2) Assault with a Dangerous Weapon 3) Assault and Battery On A Person Age 60 or Older 4) Assault and Battery On A Person Age 60 or Older 5) Assault to Commit a Felony 6) Using Motor Vehicle Without Authority 7) Trespassing.

The victim was released from Mass General Hospital after being treated for severe swelling and bruising on her body.
