Kingston: 26 year-old woman killed in car crash

A Kingston woman is dead following a motor vehicle accident Sunday night just after 9:00.

The Kingston Emergency Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting a motor vehicle crash on Pembroke Street (Route 27) at the intersection of Nottingham Drive. Kingston Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival at the crash scene, the responding emergency personnel saw that a car had been travelling northbound on Pembroke Street. The vehicle had left the roadway and struck a sign, multiple trees, and several large rocks. There was one female in the 2011 Toyota Rav 4. She’s identified as 26 year-old Julie Hyland.

Pembroke Street was closed and traffic was detoured for several hours. The Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section responded to the scene to assist with the investigation. The crash is still under investigation and a cause has yet to be determined.
