Valerie Schell, is the horse coordinator for Plymouth County 4-H, and when she saw what was happening to some of the horses during the Colorado floods, she knew she wanted to help. One picture in particular, showed a lone horse inside a corral completely flooded inside and out. It looked like a horse standing in a lake with a piece of fence showing.

Schell says that when she saw that picture, ” My heart was bleeding for the horses.”

So, the Plymouth County 4-H horse council is holding a fundraiser this Saturday at Briggs stables in Hanover, to help Colorado 4-H families impacted by the floods in northeast Colorado.

100%of the money raised will go 4-H families who need help with their animals and supplies in the heavily flooded areas.

You can stop by the Plymouth County horse show during the day Saturday at Briggs stables, at 623 Hanover street to donate, or you can always send a check to the Plymouth County 4-H horse council at 266 High Street, Hanson, MA 02341 or call 781-293-3541.
