Red Sox: Sox beat Yankees 9-2, eliminate them from Al east race

(AP) — The Boston Red Sox beat the New York Yankees 9-2 Sunday night to eliminate the Yankees from the AL East race. Clay Buchholz pitched six innings of two-hit ball to improve to 11-0 and Daniel Nava had four hits to lead the Red Sox to victory. Boston leads second-place Tampa Bay by 9½ games with a magic number of four to clinch its second division title since 1995.
