Braintree: Another victim of TV seller scam

Another victim falls prey to the “I’ve got a great deal for you on large screen TV’s, meet me in the parking lot of the south shore plaza” scam.

The latest victim, a man from Rhode Island and his son recently agreed to buy five Sony 65-inch LED 3D televisions for $3,250.

When the man and his son met the “seller” at the South Shore Plaza parking lot, in Braintree, a man named “Obie” gave them a Sears receipt for the TV’s in exchange for the money.

“Obie” went into sears to presumably get the 5 televisions.

The victim then waited for over an hour outside the store for his merchandise, he finally went inside and found out his receipt was a fake, and that he had been scammed out of his money.
