Brockton: Audio of 2nd Mayoral Debate

WATD, the Enterrpise and Massasoit Community College sponsored a debate on Monday night between Brockton Mayor Linda Balzotti, who is seeking a third term and her opponent Bill Carpenter. The 90 minute forum was held at the Buckley Performing Arts Center, which is located on Massasoit’s Brockton campus. Kevin Tocci and Enterprise managing editor Steve Damish co-moderated the debate that aired live of 95.9FM WATD and the school’s TV channel. The two candidates battled about issues like crime, the power plant,  promoting the city, the Aquaria desalination plant contract and much more. Besides a standard question and answer period,  Balzotti and Carpenter matched wits during the lightning round and then sparred during a segment that allowed them to pose questions to each other. There’s one week until the city of Brockton holds its general election on Tuesday, November 5th.
