Brockton: Hanson woman pleads innocent to vehicular homicide

A Hanson woman has pleaded innocent to charges of vehicular homicide in the death of a pedestrian this summer.

Authorities say 21-year-old Sara Sansone was under the influence of heroin when she struck and killed an 18-year-old Aron Langlais of Hanson as he was walking on Main Street in Hanson in the early morning hours of July 9th.

Sansone was indicted in September on motor vehicle homicide while under the influence of drugs and negligent driving resulting in death and was arraigned Wednesday in Brockton Superior Court.

Sansone has told police she was texting a friend and reaching for a lighter as her vehicle veered off the road. Prosecutors say a blood test at the hospital came back positive for opiates and marijuana.

Sansone was charged in District Court with driving under the influence of heroin, and was released on $5,000 bail and ordered to remain under home confinement, among other restrictions. The Supreme Court Judge did not change the bail amount or conditions on Wednesday.
