Hingham: 13 year-old charged following school lockdown

Hingham police are seeking charges against a 13 year old resident in connection with a lockdown at a local school. The lockdown was at the Foster Elementary School last week after someone was seen near the school, wearing a ski-type mask, and carrying a black air soft gun, who ran into the woods.  Students and teachers were at the school last Thursday for after school activities, just past 3:00 p.m.. Police were able to find the teen who matched the description, and brought him back to the school where he was identified by witnesses. The 13 year old will be summonsed to Juvenile Court to face four charges: carrying a dangerous weapon on school grounds, assault with a dangerous weapon, minor in possession of a bb gun/air rifle, and disorderly conduct. Police say the gun involved in the incident is a replica semi-automatic handgun.
