Marshfield: Parents not pressing charges over volunteer football coach altercation

Marshfield Police say no charges will be filed against the assistant football coach at Marshfield High School who is accused of getting into an altercation with a student.

Police Chief Phil Tavares says the volunteer coach, Christopher Leonard, went to break up a fight between two players during a practice last week by grabbing one of the players at the shoulder, spinning him around and exchanging words.

He says the parents of the player have decided to not press any charges. They’re satisfied with the school’s action of letting go the assistant coach, according to Tavares.
