Bridgewater: Fire strikes firefighter’s home

Authorities are investigating the cause of a house fire in Bridgewater.

It broke out at 150 Bradley Ln. at approximately midnight Sunday.

Fire chief George Rogers told WATD that the owner of  the home, a Taunton firefighter, called 911.

The blaze broke out in the basement of the home, and Rogers said when crews arrived, thick smoke was visible.

The unidentified firefighter, another adult, and three children were in the home.

All of the occupants made it safely outside, and are staying with relatives.

It took about three hours to douse the flames.

Rogers said the home sustained an estimated $100,000 in damage.
