Carver: Thirteen articles head to Special Town Meeting

Carver will be sending 13 articles to Special Town Meeting for town approval.

The Board of Selectmen held a joint meeting with the finance Capital Outlay, School, and Town Building Study Committees this week.

Articles 7 & 8 are asking for approval of transferring funds for the two projects that were already completed: cleaning the municipal well’s 8,000 gallon water tank, and the radiator replacement at the police and fire station.

Interim Town Administrator Jim Purcell said the bills have already been paid for these projects.

Article 4 includes proposed budget line item transfers that total $41,000 in free cash if passed, for things like DPW, police, and library salaries.

The town will also be asked to approve a veteran’s volunteer program that would allow vets to work off their property taxes.

Special Town Meeting will take place on Tuesday, November 12th, at 7:00 p.m.
