Marshfield: Child struck by truck over the weekend

An 11-year-old girl riding her bike was transported to the hospital after she collided with a truck over the weekend, in the Ocean Bluff/Brant Rock area of Marshfield.
Marshfield police say officers arrived in the area of 70 Saginaw Avenue on Saturday just past 1:30 p.m., to find a truck in the roadway, and a young girl on the ground being treated by emergency personnel.
The driver of the truck said he was driving down Saginaw Ave. when the young girl came out of a side street and flew in front of his vehicle. He reportedly said he didn’t have time to get out of her way. Several witnesses verified the account.
The young girl was taken to South Shore Hospital. Her name and condition are not known.
