Marshfield: FEMA flood plain map appeals do meet requirements

The Town of Marshfield has gotten some good news from FEMA in their battle against those updated flood plain maps. The Federal emergency Management Agency sent the town two letters stating that the town’s appeals do meet the necessary requirements and will be considering when determining the final version of the maps. Marshfield and Scituate hired two consultants, the Woods Hole Group of Falmouth and Ransom Consulting of Portland, Maine, to prepare the appeals.

However, the letter also stated that “until this appeal is resolved, FEMA will not issue a “Letter of Final Determination”.
