Marshfield: Plane crashes on takeoff, pilot suffering non-life-threatening injuries

A plane crash at the Marshfield Municipal Airport occurred Friday afternoon. The pilot, the only occupant of the plane, was reportedly sent to South Shore Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. WATD’s Ed Perry spoke with Marshfield Fire Chief Kevin Robinson at the scene, who said the call of a plane crash came in just after 3:30 PM.

Robinson says the crash happened about 100 yards away from the airport’s construction zone as the pilot was lifting off, where the they are widening and lengthening the runway. The crash ignited a small brush fire according to Robinson, which was quickly put out. The crash is under investigation.
