Pembroke residents will be asked at Tuesday’s Special Town Meeting to amend the town’s zoning bylaws regarding a temporary moratorium on medical marijuana facilities and to establish a medical marijuana overlay district.

Also on the warrant is an article about solar photovoltaic installations, including large-scale ground-mounted solar facilities, in regard to public safety, aesthetics that would minimize any impacts on scenic, or historical resources.

Another article is for roof repairs to a number of the town’s schools.

Article 11, if passed, would impose a local excise tax in the amount of point-75-percent on the sale of restaurant meals in town.

Article 16 asks for $70,000 to purchase two four-wheel drive vehicles for the fire department.

The warrant has a total of 26 articles.

Special Town Meeting in Pembroke starts at 7:30 p.m. at Pembroke High School on Learning Lane.

About David Skill

Dave Skill’s radio career began in the fall of 1964 when he arrived on the campus of Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA. Dave barely got his bags unpacked when he paid a visit to WCHC, the campus radio station. And, before he knew it, he was spending so much time as a disc jockey and news writer/reporter, it seemed like he was majoring in “radio” and minoring in academics at “The Cross”. As you might imagine, his grades reflected it! During his junior and senior years, he also worked weekends in news and as a disc jockey at WNEB, the CBS radio affiliate in Worcester at the time.
