Three of the four articles on the warrant for tonight’s Whitman Special Town Meeting are money transfers.

Article 1 is for $113,600 to pay the unpaid balance of a fiscal 2011 sewer bill to the City of Brockton.

Article 2 is for an $89,500 transfer to pay additional costs for sewer service in fiscal 2012 to the city of Brockton.

Article 4 asks for a transfer of $200,000 from the capital Stabilization Fund to partially fund the design and installation of central air conditioning at Whitman Town Hall. The total cost of the project is $700,000, but $500,000 is already available and the remaining $200,000 would come from funds set aside for capital improvements, so there would be no additional assessment to Whitman residents,

Article 3 asks voters to approve spending $214,500 for repairs to streets and sidewalks in town.

Town meeting begins at 7:30 tonight at Whitman Town Hall.

About David Skill

Dave Skill’s radio career began in the fall of 1964 when he arrived on the campus of Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA. Dave barely got his bags unpacked when he paid a visit to WCHC, the campus radio station. And, before he knew it, he was spending so much time as a disc jockey and news writer/reporter, it seemed like he was majoring in “radio” and minoring in academics at “The Cross”. As you might imagine, his grades reflected it! During his junior and senior years, he also worked weekends in news and as a disc jockey at WNEB, the CBS radio affiliate in Worcester at the time.
