Norwell: Officials appoint new Historical Commission members

Norwell’s board of selectmen voted Wednesday night to appoint two new members to the town’s Historical Commission; Katherine Campbell and Noel Ripley, after voting to expand the commission from a 5 member to a 7 member board.

Former Historical Commission member Joe Carty also applied for a seat on the board.

Selectmen Chair Ellen Allen said she believes it’s important to bring in new members on the Historical Commission.

“I would see it as an opportunity to bring in two new people with new backgrounds and experiences, at a time when the committee has a lot of seasoned vets already.”

Only one selectman, David DeCoste, supported former Historical Commission member Joe Carty’s appointment bid
