Rockland: Boy hospitalized after being hit by car

A Rockland boy is hospitalized after he was hit by a car Saturday night.

Fire Lt. Dan DelPrete told WATD the boy was at the busy intersection of Market and Union Sts. with his mother and another child in a stroller when he was struck at approximately 7:15 p.m.

The boy was taken to South Shore Hospital, then transferred to Children’s Hospital with serious injuries.

No one else was hurt.

The area was shut down as police investigated.

It’s unclear whether the driver of the car will face charges.
